Spread the Loaf

We believe in giving back.

We believe in the power of community.

We believe in the quality of our bread.

We combined all three to launch Spread the Loaf in November 2023.

 

To date (7.3.2026), it has provided 3,243 loaves of Roger's bread to Southeast Kansas households facing food insecurity through partnerships with local food banks like Wesley House in Pittsburg and The Girard Food Pantry.

 

We believe that access to nutritious food is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Food insecurity isn't just about opportunity. Many families relying on food banks receive heavily processed, low-nutrient foods because healthier options are often out of reach.

How does it work?

• Individuals and businesses in our community donate the cost of a loaf — or multiple loaves.

• Roger bakes it. We coordinate distribution to area food banks with which we've partnered.

• They distribute it to those in need.

• The community helps us grow the reach of the program to other cities in SEK.
