TOAST
We are a funky little restaurant with big flavor and food options. We use seasonal, local ingredients paired with locally-made artisan bread.
Who we are:

We’re Heather and Roger Horton — two Southeast Kansas kids with a shared passion for artisan bread, fresh ingredients, and meaningful connections.

Heather’s specialty is culinary: she develops unique, seasonal fare that showcases locally grown produce and promotes farm-to-fork fare.
Roger's specialty is sourdough artisan bread: He crafts all of the breads, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls on the TOAST menu using Kansas grown and milled flours.

Where you'll find us:

We opened in 2019 in a restored historic building in the heart of Downtown Pittsburg, Kansas. We are community-focused and feature local art on our colorful walls. We’re conveniently located just a few blocks from boutiques, thrift shops, bookstores, and Memorial Auditorium & Convention Center in the Pittsburg Arts District.

Don't miss:

Just inside our front door you’ll find our TOAST Market featuring Kansas-made products and grab-and-go scratch-made items. On Fridays and Saturdays, you'll find freshly baked loaves of Roger’s artisan breads.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Elevated comfort food:
Put a smile on your face with mac and cheese (we call it "Cheesy Noods") loaded with toppings like grilled chicken, roasted peppers, and caramelized onions.
Lighter fare:
Tickle your taste buds with our top-selling avoado smoked salmon toast or try our veggie-packed Crunch-a-Munch salad; or sip a cup of scratch-made seasonal soup.

Sandwiches:
Roll up your shirt sleeves and hunker over "Just the Dip," our version of the classic French Dip with oven-roasted beef and melty Gouda cheese and a cup of homemade au jus for dunking. Or try another classic: Sylvia's Reuben — the epitome of farm to table! This sandwich is completely house-made, all the way down to the purple kraut and rye bread.
Special treats:
Enjoy our decadent garlic confit over ricotta with toast points — a dish that pairs perfectly with a glass of wine or one of our signature mocktails. Finish off your meal with gelato.

Breakfast/brunch:
You haven't lived until you've started your day with one of Roger's oooey gooey cinnamon rolls or a plate of farm fresh eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and fried taters.

Drinks:
Whether you prefer sodas, brewed teas, coffees, lattes, cocktails, or mocktails, we have you covered!

We have gluten-free, vegan/vegetarian, and dairy-free options available upon request, and our sandwiches can be made into salads by subbing greens for bread!
Catering
Whether you're planning a small informal gathering, a morning Chamber of Commerce coffee, or a large formal event, our catering can be customized to fit your taste, your budget, and your needs.

We’re known for our artfully arranged charcuterie and small-bites presentation, which are as delicious to look at as they are to eat.
From large pans of our signature Cheesy Noods to fresh, elegant platters of fruit, veggies, meats, cheeses, and scratch-made dips, we will take your event to the next level.

We partner with local farmers, makers,
and growers for the best possible products that haven't traveled far.
